is an old city with loads of traditions and stories. One of them is the
legend of<b> </b><a href="https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Radziwi%C5%82%C5%82%C3%B3wna" target="_blank"><b>Barbara Radziwiłłówna</b></a>, the beloved wife of Polish king,<b> <a href="https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zygmunt_II_August" target="_blank">Zygmunt August</a></b>. It was a true love, even if king's mother didn't like the
marriage, claiming that young, beautiful Barbara is not good enough to
be a queen.<br />
<br />
She was a second wife of the king, the rest of people in the
castle treated it as a mismatch, so the wedding was full of
controversy. Their marriage didn't last long, after a few years Barbara
died. <span class="spellver" title="According, Accordion, Cording, Recording, Carding, Cavorting, Coding, Codding, Corking">According</span>
to the legend the king in despair wanted to see his beloved wife one
more time after her death. He called all famous wizards who could have
been able to call the ghost of the queen. One of them <span class="spellver" title="Towards, Trotsky, Twats, Tweediest, Tweeds, Tweed's, Tweeds's, Tweets, Tweet's"><b>Twardowski</b>,</span>
tole the king that if he wants to see his dead wife, he needs to sit on
a chair and not move or try to touch the ghost, otherwise, the kingdom
will be in danger. The king promised he will stay calm, but when he saw
Barbara he couldn't resist and tried to touch her. The ghost disappeared
immediately and king was left alone. <b>Now it's said that the ghost of
Barbara still comes to the <span class="spellver" title="Vowel, Wale, Wheel, Weasel, Wall, Wail, AWOL, Weal, Whale, Jewel, Bowel, Dowel, Newel, Rowel, Towel, Wowed, Swell, Well, Waddle, Waffle, Waggle, Warble, Wattle, Vale, Wile, Wally, Wheal, Waller, Dwell, Wailer, Wanly, Val, While, Whole, Vowels, Whaler, Will, Wool, We'll, Vowel's">Wawel</span> castle and walks through the king's rooms, looking for peace.</b><br />

lies in the legend. If you want to hear more stories from old times and

can find many places in Cracow where you can watch more or less
ambitious movies. And not only the big cinemas like Cinema City but
also other small ones where you will find movies which are less
mainstream. Let's check small cinemas with unique atmosphere inside
what can't be found in a huge modern cinemas.</div>

many people know about another its side –<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rynek_Underground_permanent_exhibition" target="_blank"><b> the Underground</b></a>. To be exact,
it's a museum located below the market square and its area counts
6000m2. Work on the underground began in 2005 and museum was opened on <b>
24th Se<span class="mod" title="">ptember</span> 2010</b>.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
You
should know that the market square hasn't been always on the level we
can se nowadays. In the past centuries, especially in the Middle Age,
the market <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">square</span> was located a few meters lower than today. With time and changes in the city, the level of the ground started to <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">raise</span> <span class="verupdated" title="">until</span> the level we can see and walk today.<br />
<br />
In the underground there is a regular exhibition and also a temporary
one. <b>The main regular exhibition </b>titled <b>„In the footsteps of C<span class="spellverupdated" title="">rakow'</span>s European identity”</b> was opened<b> 27th S<span class="mod" title="">eptember</span> </b><span class="verupdated" title=""><b>2010</b>. It</span> uses holograms constructed by using the fog machines and many screens and projectors too. Because of <span class="verupdated" title="">the</span> creators hoped to recreate the <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">atmosphere</span> of <span class="spellver" title="">Cracow</span>
seven centuries ago. Visitors can go and explore the <b>medieval exhibits</b>
by walking over the glass ramps. They can see 12th century reconstructed
workshop, aqueducts, the remains of burned <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">settlements</span> (the oldest from 11th century), 11th century <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">cemetery,</span>
medieval pavements and many many other amazing and <b>fascinating </b>things.
It's a great history lesson about a life in the Middle Ages. It's good
from <span class="ver" title="">time to time</span> to leave modern, well-known Main Square to see <span class="verupdated" title="">the other,</span> old face and where everything began. More information you can find <a href="http://www.podziemiarynku.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />

And <a href="http://www.discovercracow.eu/tours/details/id/868443/back/all_tours" target="_blank">here</a>, DiscoverCracov offers a trip with the guid for people who would like to get more historical information and facts.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01964262553974672412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-85122182343484874.post-62231760297909004262015-08-27T14:28:00.000+02:002015-08-27T14:28:22.961+02:00Cracow and the surroundings 2

cit<br />
y to catch the last warm sun rays and admire the beauty of the
nature. Especially one place can be really breathtaking and stunning
at this time of year - or even a bit later, during the fall, when
trees change their colors and the forest looks so colorful.<br />
This place is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunajec_River_Gorge" target="_blank"><b>Dunajec River</b> and<b> Pieniny mountains</b></a>, located on the
South of Poland. The main attraction there is Dunajec River Rafting
with its traditional white water rafting.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
You can spend time floating down on a wooden raft guided by a man
dressed in a traditional folklore clothes and telling you about local
anecdotes and legends. <b>The river goes through the mountains so you
can admire absolutely amazing view of cliffs shooting up from the
water.</b> Rafting usually takes 2,5 hours without a break. It's good to
take some packed food for lunch and additional outwear with
comfortable shoes.<br />
<br />
Rafting starts in <b>Sromowce Niżne</b> and end in <b>Szczawnica </b>located 15
km away. The villages are located around two hours by car from Cracow
so not that far away. The trips are available until the end of
October, if you will be late, you need to wait until the April when
the winter will end. For example, <a href="http://www.discovercracow.eu/tours/index" target="_blank">DiscoverCracow </a>offers the trip with
a guide. You can find more information <a href="http://www.discovercracow.eu/tours/details/id/220831/back/adventure_&_nature" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />

One of the places is<b> Botanic Garden of the <span class="spellver" title="">Jagiellonian</span> University</b>, which is a perfect place to visit <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">especially</span> during spring and summer. It was founded in <b>1783 </b>and is located on the east of the Old Town where occupies<b> 9,6 hectares</b>. It's <span class="verupdated" title="">considered</span> a historical location. <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The garden was created <b>for medical students</b> of the <span class="spellver" title="">Jagiellonian</span> University so that they can learn and do a research. <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">You can find there varied types of plants and <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">orchids,</span> mainly because of the traveler and botanists, <b><span class="spellver" title="Jozef, Josef, Josefa, Jozef's, Jose, Jove, Joe's, Josef's, Jove's">Józef</span> </b><span class="spellver" title=""><b>Warszewicz</b>,</span> who <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">travelled</span> to theentral and South <span class="spellverupdated" title="">America.</span> Because of that today the garden has the oldest and largest collection in Poland, which counts around 500 species.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Visiting a new city means meeting totally new culture with its all more or less exotic parts. Even Eu<span class="spellmodupdated" title="">ropean</span>
city can be exotic in some way. Probably one of the unusual things in
Poland for western tourists can be a milk bar. <b>What is a milk bar?</b> It's a
Polish form of <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">cafeteria</span> with homemade-style food <span class="verupdated" title="">served. First</span> typical milk bar was opened in <b>1896 </b>in Warsaw by Stanisław Dłużewski and was called "<span class="spellver" title="">Mleczarnia</span> <span class="spellver" title="">Nadświdrzańska"</span>.
The milk bars were popular especially during 1920s and 1930s and during
communism. Usually the menu of a milk bar is based on <b>dairy products</b>,
but<span class="ver" title=""></span>nowadays you can find there also other types of food like Po<span class="ver" title="">lish</span> <span class="spellmod" title=""><b>pierogi</b>,</span> <span class="spellmod" title=""><b>bigos</b>,</span> <b>omelets</b>, <b>vegetables soups</b> and some sweet <b>cakes</b>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The
main idea of any milk park is the price. Milk bars are <b>cheap</b>, much
cheaper than restaurants which serve more sophisticated meals. Milk
barks almost <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">dissapeared</span>
after the fall of communistic system and were replaced by the standard
restaurant. However, in early 2010s they became popular again. They
became small, <b>inexpensive </b>restaurants where you can eat cheap typical P<span class="verupdated" title="">olish</span> meals, the <span class="verupdated" title="">same as you</span> can find in many P<span class="verupdated" title="">olish</span> homes. <span class="spellverupdated" title="">Because</span> of <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">some</span> sort of nostalgia <span class="verupdated" title="">and very</span> specific <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">atmosphere</span>
they became more popular and nowadays they are are visited by tourists
as well who want to see the place where time stopped in some way. They
are also popular among P<span class="ver" title="">olish</span> people – the <span class="spellmodupdated" title="">elderly,</span> students, working class because average meal and costs <b>2-4 euros</b>.</span><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Every bigger P<span class="verupdated" title="">olish</span>
city has at least one milk bark, but usually there is more than one. At
the beginning they can be difficult to find because they don't have
fancy or original look – the visual side of the place is not the most
important there, usually they have <b>old communistic style</b>. <span class="spellver" title="">Cracow</span> isn't an exception, you can find a lot of<span class="ver" title=""></span> milk bars. You can find them on <span class="spellver" title="">Starowiślna</span> Street, <span class="spellver" title="Malinowski, Malinowski's, Luminosities, Miniskirt, Luminosity, Lambskin, Linkage, Romanesque, Muskeg, Luminous, Luminously, Luminosity's">Limanowskiego</span> Street, <span class="spellver" title="">Grodzka</span> Street or <span class="spellver" title="Krakow ska, Krakow-ska, Krakow's, Karaokes, Crookes, Kroc's, Crocks, Crooks, Crook's, Crock's, Grog's">Krakowska</span> Street, <a href="http://www.nieznanykrakow.com/component/content/article/37-przewodnikzdusza/117-krakowska-droga-mleczna-bary-mleczne-w-krakowie.html" target="_blank">here </a>you will find more details. So if you want to get to know Cracow from
other, less glamour side, you must go to a milk bar and try its
goods.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Cracow loves cats </span></h4>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Another time Krakow witnessed something absolutely new. In June, first in Poland Cat Cafe was opened in Krakow where all cat lovers can grab a coffee, eat something sweet and enjoy a company of the little furry purring friends.<br />Ewa Jemioło, the founder of Cat Cafe, explains that the place was created especially for the people who love cats but because of some issues (like<b> </b>allergy, small flat, no time etc.) they can't own a cat.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Of course, the cat owners or people who are simply curious can also visit the place. Everyone should feel welcome.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /><br />Cat Cafe has other goal too. Ewa Jemioło hopes that the cats will find the new friends among the people and a new home. Everyone can adopt a cat in the cafe so that another animal can come from a shelter and have a chance to find an owner. While visiting the cafe you will also have a chance to take part in a special lectures about the cats and in the felinotheraphy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />We can't forget that Cat Cafe exists thanks to crowdfunding campaign, without the financial support it wouldn't be possible to build such an extraordinary place. The project was a very challenging idea indeed.<br />First cat cafe was opened in Taiwan and three years ago in Vienna. It was the first cat cafe in Europe, now there are at least nine. Let's hope it won't be the end.</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01964262553974672412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-85122182343484874.post-54013226498617415162015-07-15T13:36:00.001+02:002015-07-15T13:37:06.612+02:00The Hobby Horse - Lajkonik<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

an element accompanying the history of each city. Although they have
a lof of fantasy and fiction, it's still interested and curious. We
associate them with places, which we pass every day and about history
we know nothing. Let us remember that although these stories are
often sucked from the finger, it is in these very high degree of
probability and the proverbial "grain of truth". Legends
expand our knowledge and develop awareness of the history. There are
also an opportunity for new travel trail of fairy tales and legends.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Krakow extremely famous for its many
legends. The reason for this is the countless emblematic monuments
and people who have significantly etched into the history of the
city.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<b>Legend of the Dragon Wawel</b></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The most famous legend is a legend
about the Wawel Dragon, related to the largest monument - the Wawel
Royal Castle. The main character is the eponymous dragon, which
fire-breathing </div>
<a name='more'></a>monument is located near the castle. According to
legend, it was there that he lived. The story says that a dragon
lived in a cave under the castle, waking terror among the population.
It was a huge lizard, with a long, pointed tail. At night, just after
sunset sneaking into nearby farms in search of food. When there was a
shortage of cattle and other animals, the dragon devoured the
inhabitants.<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
In Krakow he also lived poor but brave
shoemaker Skuba, who conceived the idea of killing the dragon. He
gave him to devour the sheep stuffed with sulfur and set it in front
of cave. The dragon devoured the sheep, and immediately began to
pierce him a huge pain and desire. To soothe the thirst drank all the
water from the Vistula River, until burst.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It is one of the most beautiful Polish
legends, and the dragon has for centuries been an integral symbol of
Krakow.</div>

At the beginning it is worth saying
that the city offers students a wide range of educational
opportunities. It is the seat of the top universities in country that
educate in many directions both humanities and technical, economic
and artistic. I say, of course, about the most famous <b>Jagiellonian
University</b>, <b>University of Science and Technology</b>,
<b>University of Economics</b> and <b>Tadeusz Kościuszko University of
Technology</b>. In addition to public institutions in
Krakow also operate non-public, which guarantee an equally high level
of education.</div>

Monuments, sightseeing, walking,
admiring, learning. And what about in between? Being in such a
beautiful city, I'm sure more than one of us, especially women, would
like to take a moment to relax in the form of purchases.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieNDxkW-bGaKtl-h6QDXvg7uJHVudEL7Se5xSfLkquDOIFzdweP9omvvVYIwYCmurDYQKqQxfFjO6rE_RwzrizHaZxAe14rGtk659Ktgh3i8-WFfPVAEM0kbWR90GLlxQfANH9rqvYlu4/s1600/1.+shopping+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieNDxkW-bGaKtl-h6QDXvg7uJHVudEL7Se5xSfLkquDOIFzdweP9omvvVYIwYCmurDYQKqQxfFjO6rE_RwzrizHaZxAe14rGtk659Ktgh3i8-WFfPVAEM0kbWR90GLlxQfANH9rqvYlu4/s320/1.+shopping+%25282%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Where to go? Here, opinions are
divided. Lovers of bargain hunters prefer shopping centers, which
offer not only a large range of products of various kinds, but also
other attractions. Thanks to them, a trip to the mall is not tiring
expedition in search of a particular purchase, but just relax in a
place where next to articles of clothing can also find on-site
dining, cinema, beauty salons, hairdressers and many others.</div>
<a name='more'></a>Which shopping center should you
choose? Undoubtedly, the most popular are those galleries that are
located in strategic locations, close to the center or, as in the
case of the "main" shopping mall, <b>Krakow Gallery</b>,
which is located next to the Central Station. There's also the
easiest to reach, because the public transpor allows travel to the
station almost from each, even distant parts of the city. The second
center located close to the main tourist route is <b>Galeria
Kazimierz</b>, which doesn't as big as the first, but it certainly
has its own climate. A little further, in the south-east side of the
city, there is a gallery <b>„Bonarka”-</b> the third largest
shopping center in Poland.<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Next to the large shopping centers,
almost every major street of Krakow has a lot of shops - both small
shops, as well as more luxury for the more demanding customers.</div>

Krakow is a city, which is particularly
